It is now 45 degrees and cloudy at 11 AM. I have one more cottage to winterize and then I am finished. We keep several more open all year. It was warm and a little windy yesterday but the fish were biting pretty good. I caught some on the grub and some on the spoon. There are some open water fish out in front of the Boy Scout camp and cow point on the flats but are hard to stay on in the wind. They are mostly white bass and hybrids. I will try again this afternoon. The crappie are not giant but about 11 inches. It does not look like the water will cool much in the next several days. There are reports of several crappie biting in the Bennetts area in shallow water on brush and a few small stripers caught up north but I have not seen any brought in. The ones that are successful are still trolling umbrellas in the float creek area.
