We went out at 7AM to get shad. The threadfin are about 3-inches long and are perfect for crappie fishing. Harvey made one cast and got all we needed. The Crappie are moving to the 30ft. brush and are suspended about 18-ft. down. He checked out several of his brush piles and we caught fish on all of them. They were mostly keepers about 10-11 inches. The smaller ones are the first to move in. Had a great morning. I learn something everytime I go with him.

Off-season rates are here again. $48/day 1-bedroom $60/day 2-bedroom. 3&4 bedrooms avail;able too. Boats from $22/day 23 to choose from. Also you have your choice of green or brown. Grass we mean. Blackburns has green with plenty of room. No duplexes and not crowded on a hillside. 28 acres with large playground and ball field. Free boat stalls. Good fishing. No oil, no hurricanes or beaches closed due to pollution. Norfork Lake is the place. Sorry we are full for the upcoming holiday, but have some openings after then.

Scuba Report on Norfork Lake Near Mountain Home

I went spearfishing yesterday and here is what I found: Lake is just above 550 and dropping slowly. Water temperature is in the high 80’s and dropping. Thermocline is now past 30 feet with cold water at 40 feet. Visibility is increasing with a mud line at 31-38 ft. There are a lot of fish at 30-ft. on brush. I got some nice big crappie and walleye at 38ft. on Blackburn’s Brush.

There are rumors that Bass Cat may be moving their 2011 Spring Fishing Tournament to Alabama. If you are a Bass Catter and want the tournament to stay on Norfork Lake (as Blackburns Resort Does) Please contact them and express your views. We would miss all of our Freinds and their families if this tournament is moved.
